Still Waiting, Here’s What You Want in this Toms River, NJ Shopping Center

in Toms River News

This location in the Toms River Shopping Center at Kohl’s plaza has been empty for quite a while and we got so many responses on what you’d like to see there.

The building and business is definitely shaped like a supermarket because that’s what it was at one time. I remember that the supermarket was so busy all the time, it was sad when it closed. What type of business would be a good fit for the Toms River Shopping Center?

It’s a giant store and there is so much you could do for this location. There’s a lot of traffic and it’s right off of 37 and the Garden State Parkway entrance is. It’s the perfect location for something great for Toms River and surrounding areas.

Water Main Project To Begin On Route 9

in Toms River News

TOMS RIVER – About 2 miles of water main on Route 9 in Toms River will be replaced. The project will begin tonight, September 12, weather permitting.

Veolia said the replacement will provide local businesses and residential customers with improved water quality and reliable water service.

“The opportunity to renew the water main presented itself when the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) advised us about its plans to rehabilitate the well-traveled Route 9 corridor,” Senior Director of Operations Jim Mastrokalos said. “Recognizing that the water infrastructure from Indian Head Road to Route 70 has reached the end of its useful life, Veolia has coordinated its work with the NJDOT project.”

Photos from Jersey Pizza Crawl: The ultimate pizza party in Seaside Heights, NJ

in Toms River Events

What an incredibly beautiful day it was for the second annual Jersey Pizza Joints Seaside Heights Pizza Crawl, of which I was named grand marshall. I can’t remember when I ate as much pizza!

Each ticket got you a slice at each of the many pizzerias across the crawl including Maruca’s Tomato PiesGeorges PizzaThe Sawmill, and Shore Slice on the North end, the home of the Jersey Devil pizza.

Among the many crawlers was actor Joseph D’Onofrio who among his many roles, played young Tommy in Goodfellas, Bronx Tale and is currently in Power Book III Raising Kanan.

JF Party Dragon doing outstanding work for many communities

in Toms River News

There is a uniqueness about the Ocean County-based non-profit JF Party Dragon and that’s in part because they are middle-man — there to help out wherever the need is great.

Tom Nuara, President, Chief Executive Director, and Co-Founder of JF Party Dragon along with Justin Greco, Treasurer, and CFO of JF Party Dragon, joined us on ‘Shore Time with Vin and Dave’ on Sunday morning to discuss who they are, what they do, and how they continue to be there for all of you.

“We help everyone, pretty much, in Ocean County,” Greco said. “We wanted all the money that comes in to go back out to those people in need. We have a purpose of helping everybody that lives in the area, so the money comes in locally and goes back out locally, so, we help Toms River Schools, the local police departments, the (Ocean County) Sheriff’s Department — Ocean County Sheriff’s Office helps with our toy drive at Christmastime, we help people with Autism in the area — we work with local businesses.”

WINNER of Best High School Marching Band in Ocean County

in Toms River Events

After a week of voting for the “best” marching band in Ocean County, we have a winner.

To me, there is nothing better than a Friday night at a local football game listening to the marching band in their seats playing their hearts out. I love sitting right next to them in the bleachers. That is the BEST school spirit!

I tried to play several instruments as a youth – the clarinet, flute, and drums. I just couldn’t do it. Looking back now, I guess I didn’t give it enough time to learn. The marching band always had a little club and I think I secretly always wanted to be a part of it. That’s why I would sit next to them in the bleachers. I wanted to be a part of their passion and school spirit.
