Construction On Route 37 To Begin This Week

TOMS RIVER – The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) has just announced that parts of the shoulder on Route 37 in Toms River will be closed beginning tomorrow, January 12.

Between January 12 and 13 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., the shoulder on Route 37 between Thomas Street and Fischer Boulevard will be closed for pavement renovations. NJDOT’s contractor Earle Asphalt Company is scheduled to close these shoulder lanes, eastbound and westbound, for survey work. During the closures, all three travel lanes on Route 37 will remain open in both directions.

Toms River Schools Update COVID Quarantine Guidelines

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Regional Schools issued reminders to parents, staff and students Tuesday about updates to the state’s COVID-19 health and safety guidelines, including the continuing requirement for masks in schools.

“Today Governor Phil Murphy extended the mask mandate (EO 251) under new Executive Order 281 for an additional 30 days,” district officials said in a letter distributed Tuesday afternoon. “This does not alter the district’s current policy or procedures, as we have abided by EO 251 since it took effect. We will, however, continue to monitor the status of this mandate in 30 days and beyond, and if any changes are made, we will communicate them in a timely manner.”

You Pick The Worst Pothole Roads in Ocean County, New Jersey

It is winter and of course when Old Man Winter is in town, it’s “pothole” season. As the temperatures go down the number of horrible “potholes” go up.

Nothing worse then your car smashing through a pothole that snuck up on you and your car feels like the wheels are falling off. How many times do you go and get a front end alignment and tire rotation, only to smash into a pothole 5 minutes after you leave your mechanic. It’s annoying and can be expensive.
