The 29th Annual NJ Decoy Collectors Association’s Decoy, Art & Hunting Collectibles Show & Sale is set for April 1 at the Seaview Hotel and Golf Club in Galloway.

This one-day event, running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., offers family fun, appraisals, food, raffles and the opportunity to meet some of the top carvers and collectors in the nation, according to a news release.

TOMS RIVER, NJ – For anyone who served in the military, or at least in the Army and Marines, where soldiers and Marines spend large amounts of time in the field, their feet are the most important thing to take care of.

From day one of training, Navy corpsmen, army docs, drill sergeants, and drill instructors stress the importance of clean socks and clean feet. Foot injuries can ground soldiers and Marines. They are often told to change their socks frequently while in the field. Veterans across the country suffer flashbacks of images burned in their minds of those who don’t heed the warning.

The struggle is real.

Trenton Thunder is Hiring for this Season

Even without a nasty winter to escape, the start of baseball is always a welcome sign of Spring. One of the early signs this year is news that the Trenton Thunder minor league baseball team is hiring for all manner of positions for the upcoming season.

According to Trenton Daily, the Thunder will hold two job fairs; one on March 28, and a second on April 22.

Applicants must be at least 14 years old with working papers from their school to be employed by the Trenton Thunder. They are looking for people who are “outgoing, energetic, responsible, and love your home team!”

Toms River woman celebrates turning 95 by jumping out of airplane. She’s scared of heights

in Toms River News

Marge Wardenski decided to celebrate a milestone birthday by doing something adventurous, so she went skydiving, jumping out of a plane at 14,000 feet.

Nothing unusual there, except for the milestone itself. The Toms River resident is about to turn 95.

That’s right: This 94-year-old went skydiving, and she did it alongside her 36-year-old granddaughter in Hawaii.

Island Heights Joins Toms River In Shared Garbage Service Agreement

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Residents of the small borough of Island Heights will soon look to Toms River for their garbage pickup and recycling services.

This comes as the two towns signed a shared service agreement that will utilize the Toms River Township Department of Public Works in Island Heights.

Toms River Township spokesman Art Gallagher said officials from both towns met Thursday morning at the pavilion on the Toms River in Island Heights to celebrate the success of the program, which started in January.

The Ocean County Library presents international singing star Maggie Worsdale’s tribute, “CRAZY About Patsy Cline” with performances at the Berkeley, Plumsted, Upper Shores, Brick, and Lakewood Branches in March.

Patsy Cline rocketed to fame in 1957 with her nationally-televised rendition of “Walking After Midnight.” She helped popularize the Nashville sound with hits such as “Crazy” and “I Fall to Pieces,” before a plane crash took her life in 1963

Early beliefs held that the heavens revolved around the Earth, and it would not be until hundreds of years later that a Greek astronomer, Hipparchus of Nicaea, was credited with compiling the first stellar catalogue that listed over 800 stars. Toms River, NJ – Wawa is hiring 1,500 new employees for the summer season, and they are offering free hoagies as an incentive.

Wawa, Inc. announced that it has officially launched recruiting efforts for the summer season as part of its summer hiring campaign. Each associate will receive a free Shorti sandwich during the summer, as well as a food menu that includes deeply discounted items.

From the New Jersey Shore to the beaches of Delaware, Wawa plans to hire approximately 1,500 new associates to fill positions at all of its stores. The recruiting campaign will begin on February 27 and continue throughout the summer season as more than 60 stores in those areas prepare for the summer season.
