TOMS RIVER, NJ – For anyone who served in the military, or at least in the Army and Marines, where soldiers and Marines spend large amounts of time in the field, their feet are the most important thing to take care of.
From day one of training, Navy corpsmen, army docs, drill sergeants, and drill instructors stress the importance of clean socks and clean feet. Foot injuries can ground soldiers and Marines. They are often told to change their socks frequently while in the field. Veterans across the country suffer flashbacks of images burned in their minds of those who don’t heed the warning.
The struggle is real.
