The Toms River Police Department announced it is actively seeking applicants for the role of Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II. This call is open to individuals with a current SLEO II certification from a New Jersey Police Training Commission-approved police academy.

Additionally, the department welcomes applications from retired police officers who have concluded their service in good standing. Retired officers must have received appropriate training and meet the qualifications outlined in N.J.S.A. 40A:14-146 to be considered.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Police Department honored two retiring members at a recent Toms River Township Council meeting.

Cpl. Thomas Herbst, who has worked for Toms River for 21 years, and Community Service Officer Robert Marion of the Toms River EMS squad, both were honored for their service to the township.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Police Department is accepting applications for its 2022 Junior Police Camp.

The camp is set for July 11-15 and runs from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and is for students who are in sixth, seventh and eighth grades.
