No. 5 Toms River North ousts top-seed Clearview in SJG4 semis

For the second time in three years, the Toms River North boys soccer team made the long bus ride to Mullica Hill to face top-seeded Clearview in the NJSIAA/Wawa South Jersey, Group 4 tournament.
In 2019, the Mariners beat the Pioneers in a first-round stunner that launched their Cinderella run to the sectional championship.
This year, the fifth-seeded Mariners (15-2-1) aren’t quite the Cinderella team they were two years ago – they are ranked 16th in the NJ.com Top 20 – but they did pull off another upset on Monday, scoring a pair of second-half goals to beat top-seeded Clearview, 2-0, in the semifinals.
