Easter Eggstravaganza Coming To Toms River Church

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Thousands of Easter eggs, including 2,000 that will be dropped by helicopter, will give kids plenty of fun surprises at the Easter Eggstravaganza.

The Easter egg hunt is set for Saturday at First Assembly of God Church, 800 Bay Ave. in Toms River. It is open to children enrolled in pre-K through fifth grade and is $5 per child, who must be registered and have a printed or digital ticket.

Ruby Tuesday never really caught on at the Jersey Shore. The restaurant chain’s Toms River location on Route 37 West has been sitting vacant since the fall/winter of 2020.

When Ruby Tuesday first opened, many were drawn to their “Simple Fresh American Dining.” The fact that it is in the same plaza as Marquee Cinema was the perfect placement for the casual dining destination.

TAMPA — The Yankees threw one of their wet-behind-the-ears relievers to some of the biggest and baddest baseball wolves during their March 23 spring training game in Dunedin.

The Toronto Blue Jays had most of their scary lineup in that day and the top of the lineup was coming up when hard-throwing righty Ron Marinaccio entered to pitch the bottom of the fourth with the Yanks trailing 4-1.

What went down over this long inning, one in which the Jays roughed up Marinaccio for five unearned runs, became an important learning experience that helped key the Toms River product’s successful quest for a first big-league opportunity as a member of the Yankees’ season-opening bullpen.

Ocean County to explore major expansion of county government campus in Toms River

TOMS RIVER – A new state-of-the-art sheriff’s complex, an Ocean County Hall of Records, expanded office space for the Prosecutor’s Office and a police firing range are all capital projects the county government intends to study in the near future.

“We’ve been talking back and forth for some time now about a long-term capital plan,” said county commission Director Jack Kelly at a board agenda session Wednesday. “It gets complicated. We’re not going to try to do it all today, but what we’re going to do today is talk about the downtown projects that we’re looking at.”
