TOMS RIVER, NJ – When the leg of the annual Special Olympics torch run made its way through the northern barrier island, it was escorted by members of the Toms River Police Department. Over 50 officers ran from Ortley Beach to Brick Beaches. Some even continued on the journey with the torch to Brielle.

Beam Signing Brings RWJBarnabas Health Leaders Together in Toms River

Bill Arnold, President and CEO, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and President, Southern Region, RWJBarnabas Health (RWJBH), joined leaders from Community Medical Center (CMC), Children’s Specialized Hospital (CSH), CSH Foundation and RWJBH Medical Group to celebrate the last beam being put in place at the new Toms River West Hub construction. The group celebrated the occasion with a ceremonial beam signing.

New Jersey Symphony to Perform Free Concert at Ocean County College

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The New Jersey Symphony returns to Toms River this month for a free outdoor concert at Ocean County College, sponsored by the Ocean County College Foundation. The performance will take place on Tuesday, June 28th at 8:00pm and is open to the public. Admission and parking are free of charge.

No New Inspection Station In Toms River

TOMS RIVER – There’s a brand new sign on the side of a former DMV inspection station, but authorities warned people not to take it as a sign that the facility is re-opening.

For years, locals drove to the inspection station on James Street on the corner of Route 9. Long-time residents will remember parking along James, waiting their turn. It didn’t have nearly as many bays as the current one on Route 70 in Lakewood, so sometimes you’d have to turn your car off while waiting.

Construction at Huddy Park in Downtown Toms River is Complete

Historic Huddy Park in beautiful Downtown Toms River is looking ready for summer and the many events that will take place at this landmark in Toms River Township.

It was back in November of 2020 that the main gazebo at Huddy Park in Downtown Toms River collapsed…leaving the three-piece gazebo reduced to rubble. Since then construction has been underway and at times delayed during the pandemic, but now is done and looks fantastic.
