Former NJ rivals come together for an important cause

in Toms River News

Don’t miss an outstanding opportunity to enjoy a night of laughter and conversation while supporting an important cause.

Join me on Saturday night, Oct. 22 in Toms River at the RWJ Health Center located at 1245 Old Freehold Road. The night kicks off with a meet & greet with several people you’ll want to meet. I’ll be joined by sports radio host Craig Carton and former MLB star Todd Frazier.

I’m hoping that this event serves a few purposes. First to make sure that incredible places like the Field of Dreams get the funding necessary to pay the bills and stay open to continue serving the 1,600 families currently benefitting from the park.

in Toms River News

When it comes to food, New Jersey is really good at a lot of things.

Our produce is incredible. Bagels? Wonderful. Our boardwalk’s saltwater taffy is beloved, and people who move out of state forever crave pork roll/Taylor ham.

And our pizza? Fuhgeddaboudit.

Food & Wine magazine thinks so, too, and last year named New Jersey the best pizza state in the country.

Delicious! Best Apple Pie in Ocean and Monmouth County, New Jersey

in Toms River News

Well, we always hear it’s one of the foundations of American cooking, the apple pie. Nothing beats a good old-fashioned apple pie and whether you top it with whipped cream, ice cream, or nothing, it’s a fantastic dessert any time of year.

According to the pie council, “$700 million in pies (approx. 186 million units) are sold in grocery stores every year. This does not include restaurants, food service or price clubs, only.”

The “pie council” also listed the most popular pies and as I would have assumed, apple pie is at the top of the list when it becomes the most popular type of pie.

Residents fight Toms River, NJ law that could lower home values (Opinion)

in Toms River News

Late last year the Township Council in Toms River led by Mayor Mo Hill adopted an ordinance that increases the fees paid by home sellers and potentially jeopardizes the sale altogether.

In addition to the inspections typically sought by buyers before closing on a house and banks before committing financing, the township requires another layer.

Council Member Justin Lamb — who is also a police officer — is fighting back. He joined me on air to discuss some of the reasons why homeowners and real estate professionals are up in arms over the ordinance.

Good News: This Popular New Jersey Grocery is Cutting Prices

in Toms River News

I went to the grocery store last week with my wife, and after getting a solid shopping cart full of meat, produce snacks, and other things it came out to be about $120.

Not the craziest grocery bill we’ve ever had, but usually, we’re able to keep it under $100 dollars.

Being a household of two helps with that, but even still we’ve noticed the steady increase in cost over the past few months.
