Winter Track: Gov. Livingston’s Samantha Richter Places 5th in 1600 M at Central Group 2 Sectional Championships

TOMS RIVER, NJ – The Highlander Boys and Girls Winter Track teams traveled to the Bennett Indoor Track Center in Toms River on Saturday for the Central Group 2 Sectional Championships.

Sophomore Samantha Richter placed 5th in the 1600 M in 5:34.8. The top six finishers of each event at the Group Championships will move on to the Group Championship Meet on February 26. Click here for Sectional Championship results.

TR LIFEToms River Slowly Plotting Future for Boy Scout Property

Toms River officials are slowly planning for future uses of the Jersey Shore Boy Scouts Council building, adjacent to Camp Albocondo, which could be utilized for recreation space.

The township council last week agreed to continue to allow a Pentecostal church to continue meeting at the building, located on Ridgeway Road in the westernmost portion of town. The township purchased the four-acre site, which includes a headquarters building, for $1.1 million last year.
