THIS is the only thing you want in the Kohl’s plaza in Tom River. The building is definitely shaped like a supermarket because that’s what it was at one time. I remember that the supermarket was so busy all the time, it was sad when it closed. What type of business would be a good fit for the Toms River Shopping Center? A Wegmans would be perfect in this spot.

Today, Friday March 18th is National Sloppy Joe Day. I think we all had “sloppy joe’s” in school and at home growing up. Made me think was there a “Joe” and if so was he “sloppy”? Well after some investigation aka google, It appears that there was a guy named Jose Garcia who lived in Havana, Cuba and he served a dish that was based on a Spanish dish called “ropa vieja” and the name “sloppy joe” was born. This recipe by Jose was originated in Cuba around 1910.

Halt NJ Test Requirement For Class Of 2023, Toms River Board Says

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Across New Jersey high school juniors have been sitting for standardized tests this week, the newest version of testing by the state to determine whether students are prepared for college and careers after graduation.

The test, the New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment, has never been administered before 2022, but students taking it this year would be required to pass it to graduate from high school, according to the state Department of Education.
