The Fabulous Cute Easter Bunny is Coming to Toms River, NJ

Hippity hoppity, here comes the Easter bunny to Ocean County.

It was something I always loved to do when I was younger, seeing the Easter Bunny.

Easter was always my favorite holiday. The “big” bunny along with all the colored eggs always made me happy and still to this day, I love it. I loved going to visit the Easter Bunny in our mall growing up.

New Toms River Coffee House Opens Today

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Tired of the usual Dunkin, McCafe and Starbucks Coffee? A new coffee house opened today in Toms River near the border of Brick Township.

Spire Coffee House in the Shoppes at Hooper in Toms River opened their door today to much fanfare, including dollar drinks all day long.

The business if off to a great start getting a solid 5.0 rating on Facebook on from customers on their first day.

Her art is in Time magazine, again. What to know about South Jersey’s Lavett Ballard

Lavett Ballard’s studio is tucked away in a former classroom at the Kennedy Center, which was previously a high school.

Up a set of stairs, Ballard’s second-floor studio is filled with some of her finished work and artwork in progress. Paint, cutouts, wood, wooden fences, wiring — it’s all there.

There are telltale signs with residue on the floor that an artist has been hard at work.

Chick-Fil-A Hoping New Cauliflower Filet Sandwich Takes Off, But Will New Jerseyans Bite

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Chick-fil-A, a beloved brand all across New Jersey where people line up in lines sometimes as long as a football field has announced they’re dipping their toes into vegan cuisine.

Last Monday, the company rolled out the Chick-fil-A Cauliflower Sandwich. Right now, it’s only in a test area that includes Denver, Colorado; Charleston, South Carolina; and Greensboro, North Carolina, but if successful, you can see it soon at the Jersey Shore.

According to the company, The Chick-fil-A Cauliflower Sandwich is made from a tender filet from a whole cauliflower that is breaded in our signature seasoning and pressure-cooked in 100% refined peanut oil. Like the original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, the new cauliflower entrée will be served on a toasted buttery bun with two dill pickle chips.

These restaurants will make you feel good that you actually got out and enjoyed a night out. These are warm and cozy, the atmosphere that we absolutely need right now.

Most of these spectacular restaurants I have been to. Some of these restaurants have fireplaces. They are inviting, especially in the winter. Cozy to me reminds me of that warm feeling when you walk into a place.

Livingston Boys and Girls Track and Field Teams Both Shine at Sectional Championship

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Livingston High School (LHS) boys and girls track and field teams both excelled in the North 1, Group IV State Sectional Championships in Toms River, where the boys came away with two sectional champions and a second-place finish overall with 64 team points, and the girls came away with one sectional champion and a third-place finish.

In total, the teams earned 23 spots in the Group IV Championships to be held on Feb. 18 by placing in the top six in their events.

In the 400-meter dash, Luke Petryna and Chase Wade both move onto the Group IV meet with the fourth-and fifth-place finishes. Petryna clocked a 52.58 while Wade crossed the finish line at 52.67.

Smith Announces Over $500,000 In Federal Funds To Help Toms River Volunteer Fire Department Recruit New Members

TOMS RIVER, NJ (OCEAN)–Rep. Chris Smith (R-Manchester) today announced Toms River Fire District No. 1 will receive $508,256 in federal funds to help recruit and retain volunteers as part of the federal Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant program. The Fire District oversees six of the township’s Source: Toms River Fire District No. 1 website.nine fire stations.

“The vitality of Toms River’s volunteer fire department depends greatly on retaining its dedicated firefighters who selflessly risk their lives to rescue our neighbors who fall in harm’s way, as well as attracting new volunteers who are ready to courageously respond to the call of service,” said Smith, who had contacted the Department of Homeland Security on behalf of the township to advocate for the funds.

NJ history: 2 guys in a boat row across the Atlantic for $100

Back in the late 1800s as industry made inventive strides in making it easier to live in this country, there were two guys from Jersey, by way of Norway, who would take on a feat of stamina, a feat of strength and perseverance without the help of any new-fangled equipment, just themselves and an oak row boat. They would row across the Atlantic Ocean and making it in 55 days.

Bloomfield HS indoor track teams enjoy solid performances at sectional meet

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield High School boys and girls indoor track-and-field teams, under head coach Terry Iavarone, enjoyed solid performances at the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association’s North Jersey, Section 1, Group 4 state Championships at the Bennett Center in Toms River on Friday, Feb. 10.

The boys team took ninth place overall with 11 points based on the top-six finishes in each event.

In the high jump, senior Cristian Armstrong took third place at 5 feet, 10 inches; and senior Zaire LaRue took fourth place, also at 5-10. In the pole vault, junior Charles Lisa took sixth place at 9-6 and junior Dave Louis took eighth place at 8-0.
