Good news – starting this weekend, two new Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants are opening their doors at the Jersey Shore.
Opening Friday, Dec. 29, is a location at 490B Shrewsbury Plaza in Shrewsbury.
Opening Sunday, Dec. 31, is a location at 465 East Route 37 in Toms River.
The new year hasn’t yet started, but 2024 already is looking delicious.
So far, we know of more than a dozen restaurants opening — and there will certainly be more. Get ready for a boardwalk restaurant with a menu meant for sharing, a fried chicken sandwich spot, a burger restaurant near a brewery, and a waterfront eatery serving wood-fired pizza.

For those who enjoy a lavish buffet meal, there are many places to choose from in New Jersey. Some top choices are the Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet in Jersey City, the Flaming Grill and Buffet in Linden, the Fortune Buffet in Toms River, and the Harvest Buffet in Waretown. However, there are several other options worth exploring.

Burger 25, the popular restaurant with two locations at the Shore, is planning a third. It will be on Route 88 in Brick.
What makes this location different, is that it will be located next to Icarus Brewing Company. Burger 25 owner Steve Vetter told the Asbury Park Press that the location is perfect, “I believe it is a match made in heaven,” Steve said. “We’ve always welcomed BYOB, and to be next to one of the most popular breweries in New Jersey as they embark on a 20,000-square-foot facility, it’s awesome. We can’t wait to be a part of it.”
Honeygrow, the fast-casual restaurant known for its customizable stir-fries, salads, and honeybar desserts, has officially opened its doors in Toms River. The new location welcomes customers seeking fresh, quality ingredients and a unique dining experience. Honeygrow emphasizes a commitment to locally sourced produce and healthy eating options, catering to a variety of dietary preferences.
Founded in Philadelphia in 2012, Honeygrow has expanded rapidly, with the Toms River outlet marking its latest venture into the New Jersey market. The restaurant’s interactive ordering system allows patrons to personalize their meals, ensuring a tailored dining experience.
