Toms River Vest-A-Cop Raises Money Despite Rainy Day

TOMS RIVER – Despite the threat of a washout, even intermittent downpours couldn’t dampen the spirits of those who came out to support the local police department’s bulletproof vest fundraiser.

The Vest-a-Cop event, sponsored by the Toms River PBA and Police Department, was held on Washington Street in the downtown area. While crowds were smaller than in years past, the fundraiser was still a success.

“Our community showed up and we’re so grateful for them,” said Jillian Messina, Media Relations Specialist for the Toms River Police Department. “The restaurants were packed with people and many just came to buy shirts.”

NJ teen plans arcade fundraiser for autism

Autism Family Services of New Jersey offers support to families in the Garden State with children on the autism spectrum, and now they’re getting a little extra support of their own.

According to Patch.com, Andrew Visconti, of Freehold Township, is putting on an Arcade for Autism fundraiser this Sat. (June 4) at Yestercades in Red Bank from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Ocean Of Love Fundraiser To Return With High Hopes

TOMS RIVER – A popular fundraiser to benefit children with cancer will return later this month. The Radiothon has gained a new sponsor but features a familiar face.

Ocean of Love Executive Director Theresa Segui said her organization is very excited about the return of the radiothon event which this year is being sponsored by a new radio station, 95.9 WRAT.

This marks the 23rd year for the Billboard Radiothon that will benefit the non-profit, charitable 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to helping Ocean County children with cancer and their families.
