The owner of the game’s best sinker is fine and picked up two more saves in his last two outings after finally giving up a couple runs following a 2½-month scoreless streak.
Rookie Ron Marinaccio has been even more effective over the past five months. The Toms River, N.J., product retired the only three batters he faced in Saturday’s 13-4 win in Game 1 of a doubleheader. He has retired 46 of 47 batters over his last 15 outings — all scoreless.
